~ Things to Do ~ The Root River State Trail, built in 1988 by the DNR, was officially opened May 20th, 1989. The trail goes directly through town and has been used by many tourists and local people. Enjoy it year-round for biking, hiking, roller-blading, cross-country skiing and more. The City Park has an excellent softball field and an RV Campground with water, electricity and sewer hook-ups at each site. The Town of Peterson is also surrounded by trout streams and hunting areas with an abundance of deer, turkey, and other wildlife. The Root River provides canoeing, tubing, fishing and other recreational activities. Canoes and tubes can be rented in town at Geneva's Hideaway. If you're in town on Sunday morning you're welcome to join us for church at Grace Lutheran Church. If you are looking for things to do in the neighboring towns you can check out one of these other surrounding towns: |
